Rick Sowma

Rick Sowma was born and raised in Long Beach, California and spent three years as a longshoreman before changing careers to become a motorcycle mechanic. He spent most of his time at Orange County Cycle in Garden Grove, California where he met our co-founder Ken Faught in the 1980s. Orange County Cycle was the largest Yamaha parts stocking dealer in the United States before the internet took over, and Rick worked on dirt bikes, street bikes, ATVs and personal watercraft. 

Rick splits his time riding dirt bikes and enjoying a wide variety of water sports. He's a talented surfer, Jet Skier, wakeboarder, and has competed all over the west coast racing on two-wheels. Now semi-retired, Rick is the lead mechanic for Speed & Sport Adventures.
