Bringing his lifelong passion for two wheels, dirt and the state of Arizona, Dan Hayakawa joins the Speed and Sport Adventures team with a vast array of adventure skills. From his earliest days on BMX bikes, to an expert level mountain bike racer before moving on to dirt bike racing, Dan’s enthusiasm, passion and smile will always stand out when you are around him.

     Dan’s background in BMX and MTB helped him rapidly develop his skills in motorcycle racing. Despite a late start on dirt bikes in his 30s, he quickly moved through the skill ranks in the Arizona off road championships and has won several Vet and Senior expert off-road championships.

     Moving on to racing the national AMA EnduroCross series Hayakawa is a constant podium contender in the Vet class where he's pursuing a national championship. In addition, Dan competes in the new AMA Extreme Championship enduro series and really enjoys this emerging series that requires insane levels of fitness as well as the highest level of technical skills.

     A lifelong resident of Arizona, Hayakawa is passionate about the opportunities the state provides for recreation and dedicated several years of his life serving as president and in other leadership positions in the Arizona Motorcycle Riders Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to responsible off-road riding and racing in Arizona.

     Outside of racing motorcycles, Dan also rides trials motorcycles to keep those technical skills sharp and rides his KTM 790 Adventure bike on fun adventures with best bud Destry Abbott (they quip about their own little motorcycle gang called “Heck’s Angels”). Dan serves on the board of the DA8Strong Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of cancer patients through charitable support, recreation and services.

     In between motorcycle races and adventures, Dan’s 25+ year career in Information Technology keeps him plenty busy (and funds the two-wheeled passion). His techie nature means he’s usually the go-to gadget geek and is usually the first to try out a piece of technology on or off the motorcycle.

     Dan is a dedicated family man and resides in Phoenix with his wife Silvia and their now adult children Raven and Kai. He enjoys traveling with his family to exciting destinations, is obsessed with grilling and eating delicious food with his family and is always in pursuit of the next adventure!
