PHOENIX RIDE 2022
INFO & ITINERARY
The Ultimate Luxury Dual-Sport Adventure
Special Guests Destry Abbott & ??????????
Dec 12-16, 2022
The Phoenix ride will take place in Destry Abbott's stomping grounds in Arizona. We chose December because the weather is typically ideal for off-road riding in this unique environment. Destry will be our guide and we will be joined by ??????? and ??????, along with former Dirt Rider magazine editors Mark Kariya and Ken Faught. We also expect that former Yamaha factory rider Shaun Kalos will join us for part of this experience.
This sill be our inaugural event in the Phoenix area and we plan on including a helicopter ride on day two, along with some very cool surprises. Make no mistake, this is a full-on backlist dual-sport ride, and you won't find anything better in the United States. We have approximately one staff person for every rider, and our focus is to make this one of the most fun riding experiences possible with a high-level of VIP service.
This is an exclusive ride for thirteen, yes 13 people only. This is a high-end event, and the $9,950 ($7,350 for a shared room) cost should tell you something (bike rental is available for an additional fee). We recommend that you ride your street-legal dual-sport bikes so you are comfortable, however we can arrange a rental bike if necessary. We have several KTM 350 & 500 EXC-Fs in our fleet.
Phoenix 2022 will include some fun in a helicopter, incredible sightseeing, riding tips from champion racers along with photos and video of your adventure. That’s right, the award-winning Mark Kariya and Ken Faught—names you've seen in magazines like Dirt Rider, Dirt Bike, Cycle News, Australasian Dirt Bike and Racer X for over 25 years—will be shooting photos of each rider to create lasting personal memories for each participant. It’s one of the many reasons this will be the number one, on-and off-road, motorcycle tour in the United States and one of the top 10 dirt bike tours in the world, first time out.
So, who will attend this event? We expect an eclectic group of business owners, executives, doctors, lawyers, celebrities and serious fans of the sport. The price itself should be an indication that we expect quality, successful people who enjoy the finer things in life. These include items like bike and gear washing, entertainment and all meals.
Participants in Phoenix 2022 —The Legends Ride will also be placed on special VIP priority list for future rides. That means they will have the first opportunity for Speed & Sport Adventures' next event, and if someone cancels, they will have an opportunity to bring a friend before we open it up to the general public.
LIVING SPACE—OUR BASE CAMP
Each rider will have his (or her) own room inside this modern masterpiece which will serve as our base camp, except the few who choose to share rooms for a discount. The house is absolutely stunning and is located in the high-end section of Phoenix known as Scottsdale. In fact its located just a few miles from the Scottsdale Airport, and we will start our ride from the house each of the three ride days.
The house features a swimming pool, corn hole pool table, large living areas, custom kitchen, 11 bedrooms and nearly a dozen restrooms. It's almost 10,000 square feet and ideally suited for smaller group events.
As you can see from the photos, the house is completely custom and full of high-end amenities. All breakfasts and dinners will be served by our crew at the house, and lunches will be a mix of restaurants and trail side meals that are trucked in by Vanessa Doleshal, Donna Munoz, Erica Vuillemin and Bradi Bowers.
Our goal is to create an amazing experience for all, and we have worked to find the ideal balance to achieve that. Mark Kariya and Ken Faught are arguably the two most-traveled professional off-road motorcycle journalists in the world, and they, along with Destry Abbott, Cooper Abbott and Dan Hayakawa, did much of the scouting before choosing Phoenix. They have done off-road motorcycle tours in Peru, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Senegal, and Chile. Separately, they have ridden in 40 of the United States plus Australia and several countries in Europe.
"Although we love international travel, we wanted to create something that avoided the complication of needing a passport to have fun," Faught explains."Our goal is to make it simple for people to have the absolute best of the best, and we found that in Scottsdale."
“Such a talented group of people working on an amazing adventure.”
